Common questions

Is this an ATS?
No — we're a recruitment consultancy with a deterministic scoring engine. We don't replace your applicant tracking system; we sit alongside it as a defensible scoring layer. Use us once per role, or every week. No integration required.
How is this different from ChatGPT-based screening tools?
LLM-based tools produce different scores for the same CV every time, and can't show their working. Mermoid is rule-based and citation-backed: every score points to specific CV passages. That difference matters when an Equality Act 2010 claim or an ICO inspection is on the line.
What sectors do you cover?
UK regulated sectors: care (CQC), finance (FCA SMCR), legal (SRA), education (KCSIE), construction (CSCS), security (SIA), healthcare (GMC, HCPC). Tech and engineering also supported. See sector packs →
Is my candidate data safe?
Files deleted 7 days after delivery. Audit-trail data retained 18 months for tribunal defensibility (you can request earlier erasure). UK/EU data residency. No third-party AI training. Full privacy notice.
What if the report isn't useful?
Pay-per-cohort: if the report contains material factual errors, missing citation evidence, or fails to score against your JD, refund within 7 days. Subjective dissatisfaction (you don't like the candidates) isn't grounds — the candidates are who they are. Full terms →
